NYC School Account

Dear Parents

I am writing to inform you of some new updates with the NYC Schools Account as of this week Beginning May 17th, parents will be able to see their child's current year attendance information in a calendar and/or table views in your NYC Schools Account (NYCSA). The new calendar view is color-coded to indicate the date(s) that a child was marked late or absent. The table view has been updated to include the specific date(s) that a child was marked late.
With an NYC Schools Account, parents are able to access key information about student progress for their child in school, including attendance, report card grades, assessments, general student information, and academic schedules.
To set up an account, you must be your child's parent or legal guardian and live at the same address with your child. If you have more than one child attending PS/IS 171 or other NYC public school, you can link all of them to the same NYC Schools Account. You can register for an NYC Schools Account by contacting the office to schedule an appointment to create an account. You will need a valid photo L.D. (Passport, Driver's license, IDNYC) and a valid email address using Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo.

Upcoming Building Phasing Project 2018-202

Dear Parents,

I am so delighted to inform you of our upcoming building phasing project that will take place for the next school year 2018-2019, summer 2019, and summer 2020. Our construction project will include exterior masonry and installation of windows in our gymnasium, auditorium, and cafeteria. Any construction and enhancements will not interrupt learning that occurs during school hours as well as during after-school activities. For the duration of this building improvement project, we wil ensure all safety and precautions are met with collaboration between The School Construction Authority (SCA) and the Department of Education. We are excited for this endeavor and look forward to the success of this phasing project to improve our building conditions. We continuously strive to provide a comfortable environment for all students, teachers and faculty members where students can excel, teachers can explore new methods and approaches, and members of our community can collaborate. If you have any questions and or concerns regarding this phasing project, please feel free to contact any member of our Administration Team.
